Beads and Jewelry

I just finished two pairs of beaded earrings and I'm almost done with 2 little triangles covered with beads to be used as hair ornaments for belly dancing. Whenthe sun goes down my little container/studio gets too cold for  beading and tying knots with my chilly fingers. So I came in at 5PM to get the fire started.
I recently finished two beaded felt hearts. Busy busy. I spent an hour today cleaning up and organizing an old suitcase full of beads.

Beaded Arrow

I just finished the beaded arrow. It could be used as an applique, sewn to a hat or a quiver for example. Or I can put a back on it and use it as a brooch. I quite like it and can't wait to try it in other color schemes or even on leather.

Green Arrow Pin

Today I started working on a green arrow  pin, trying to keep my sanity during all this packing and sorting. It's taken on a surrealistic quality and feels like it will never be done. Maybe I died and went to hell but instead of flames its endless stuff I have to sort and label.

So to keep from going insane I started a beading project with a handful of supplies. It's late so I'll add a photo another time.

Lucerne Valley Or Bust

Lately I've been really into beading felt hands and hearts and such and turning them into ornaments or pins. It's always a delight to work with little beads and sparkly things and real stones. Sometimes I give them as gifts but I hope to list some in my Etsy shop when I'm done moving. I hate the endless packing and drudgery of moving but it will be great in the long run. At least when I'm not baking in the desert. I'm looking forward to the first snowfall.

Witch Doll

Right now I'm working on a cloth witch doll and some leather string keepers for archery.

That's an Ugly Doll

The red box holds the most current doll and supplies.
Felt needle book for holding needles and pins.
I'm working on ugly scary dolls right now in the 'so ugly they're cute' category.   I finished one and started a new one yesterday.

Since I had several packs of needles and was wasting my time sorting through packets, I made this felted needle book for my doll making kit. That way I just take the box to my work area and have everything I need for making a doll.

A Hat, Three Dolls, Two Fish & a Cat Toy

I feel like I'm running around like mad and still not keeping up.  So here are a few things I've made recently. If you'd like me to make you anything along these lines I can whip it up and put it in my Etsy shop.  But I'll never know if you don't speak up.

Woven Art Doll

First stick weaving doll.

Nostepinne

White snood.  I finished the white snood for Guy's Mom.
Nostepinne: I made a nostepinne yesterday out of an old dowel that David gave us. It use to have a roll of paper on it. I wove 3 balls of yarn last night because I'm trying to get better at it.

I made her from an old dowel. I carved the shape with hand tools and woodburned the designs.
The balls are flat on top and bottom to make them easy to stack and the yarn pulls from the center so they don't roll away

Mermaid Curtain Finger Knitting

I'm busy making long ropes of finger knitting in shades of sea green, ocean blue, black, and pine green for a puppet theater back drop.

Two Fairy Doll Houses Made Out of Gourds

I've been working on 2 gourd fairy (faery) houses. One is further along than the other. I did a lot of wood burning on the first one yesterday. In hindsight it's probably better to do the pyrography first and then glue the decorations on so I don't knock them loose as I spin the gourd around to add the graphics. After woodburning my hair always smells like fireplace smoke. I need to get some moss for the interior and figure out how to make furniture. Maybe a table and chair for the inside, and a little woven rug.

Making Paper Valentines

I spent most of the day designing simple valentine cards for an article. As soon as I'm done with it I'll post it here. Some are suitable to do with your young children. I tried to pick supplies most crafters already have on hand. Granted we all have different stashes of materials, but most of us have paper, glue, scissors, ribbon, and buttons.

I'd like to also design some cards that use stitchery, but I'm not sure when I'll get to it and Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

Chain of Hearts Scarf

So  easily are new projects born into my mind.  Valentine's Day is fast approaching so I'm making a chain of hearts to wear as a scarf.

Crochet Hat with Braid Tubes

I can't remember when I started this hat but I just finished it and listed it on Etsy and Yardsellr.
So  feeling pretty cocky about my success, I started crocheting another one last night in shades of purple and gray.

Painting a Pet Sympathy Card

Today I spent a few more hours on one of my abstract paintings, then I remembered I needed to paint a card for a friend that just lost her fur kid. I had all the paints out so I put my painting aside and spent another hour painting the card.

I think the dog looks kind of 'off' but it's the thought that counts, right?

Painting on Canvas

Greenman banner: I started a new project yesterday.  It's a hand painted canvas 2' x 2' banner for my boyfriend's archery site and it has to be done by Friday. I wish he'd asked me sooner than yesterday afternoon but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Kokopelli painting: I spilled paint on my painting and I haven't had time to fix it yet

Juggling clubs: That's what I was working on yesterday when my boyfriend derailed my schedule.
