Esmeralda Clay Doll Head

Gypsy lady.

Gypsy marionette head.
I just took this marionette / doll head out of storage. I just don't know if I want to finish her or put her back in a box. What do you think? She doesn't have any hair yet. Her head is pretty heavy so her body would have to be something strong, like wood. She's definitely one of a kind.

Other current projects:
Spooky cat embroidery
Orange collar with beads and buttons
Crochet and knit hats and scarves for winter.

Little Yellow Hat and New Paintings

Maggie in her new hat.
I know I'm behind. Stupid Internet connection is on the fritz every other day or more. At any rate, last night I started knitting a little yellow hat for my granddaughter, who I will be visiting soon.

I also finished 3 paintings. I only have photos of 2 of them though. The witch one is on canvas board, The other one is gouache on heavy paper. Click to see a larger view. I can list either one or both in my Etsy shop if you are interested.

Cro-knit Double Ended Crochet Hook

I was unpacking things from storage and ran across a double-ended crochet hook. Now I know I have a book on it and tried it in the past and couldn't figure it out for anything.  But I figured I could try again if I could find a tutorial on You-tube and now I am happily making something which may turn out to be a hat. The written directions that came with the hook said to cast on 36 to make a scarf, so I did. But this thing is way too wide to be a scarf, so I thought I'd either make an envelope hat or a vest. Before I make a vest I need to figure out how to make increases and decreases, so I can make arm holes.

Children's Robin Hood Hat

I almost have the first children's version of the Robin Hood hat sewn together. Since I was hand-sewing while in the truck, I added a leaf to the side.  With three grand kids I'm sure these hats will come in handy. But I hope to at least try to sell some at the archery swap meet this Sat., which means more sewing today.

Kids Arrows

I recently finished 24 kid's arrows and one flu-flu. The pink ones sold right away. But I can always make more. They are made of poplar. I've made arrows before, but it's been awhile and these are the first kid's arrows I've attempted, so I'm proud of myself.

Adult Robin Hood Hat

Whipping together a Robin Hood hat prototype for an event on Sat. If it works, I'll make a kid's version.

Leather Beaded Pouches

At the Chamberlain Ranch Shoot I finished several leather beaded pouches.
The pouch at the far end is for holding an extra bow string.

My newly designed roadrunner pouch. I can't wait to make another one in a different color scheme.
I sold two pairs of earrings, including the ankh earrings I just made for myself. So I need to get busy and make another pair of those as well. And my daughter dropped by so I gave her the earrings I made for her, so I need to get busy and make more inventory for an SCA event on Sunday. I'd like to fill this entire pegboard.

Beaded Star Pin

My most recent star pin. These little beauties will look fantastic under stage lights. When I get another sewing machine I'll be sewing them onto headbands for belly dancing. Sewing beads onto anything is very time consuming. It's not made in China and I don't want to sell it for $5.00

Oak and Rattan

My daughter showed up to surprise me at the Chamberlain Ranch meet. So I gave her the long dangly earrings I made for her, and then I made another pair in turquoise blue and royal blue to hang up on the pegboard to sell at my booth.

And I started another felt pin with beads.

I also made a tiny shelf of rattan and oak branches. It was perfect for setting my beaded pins on. When we unpack the truck I'll show you.

More Beading

Yesterday I started weaving a pair of earrings in blue, yellow and green. I started on the 2nd one today at the laundromat but didn't get to finish it. I made a portable kit that holds enough supplies to make one pair of earrings. Neat.

Coyote Earrings

I've been working on lots of things for the Chamberlain Ranch Shoot. I just started knitting a spring green hat with pink diamonds yesterday. This is a coyote design I want to add to a pouch. I've been making beaded earrings too. I designed a road runner that is wide, so it will have to go on a pouch or a necklace. It's neverending.

Doll Making Demo

Ever since we moved, I've gotten behind on all my blogs, mostly because for the first few months all I had was dial-up. So I'm playing catch up still. The doll I am currently working on:

Imbolc Headband

Since it's Imbolc, I started working on leafy headband in shades of green and gold. I can't finish it in one day but at least I am doing something special for Imbolc. Its a glorious sunny day.

Hearts and Postcards

Sorry for the delay in posting. After I moved in October, I was stuck with the dial-up connection from hell. Now I have Broadband, at least temporarily, so I can play blog catch up a bit. My latest creation was these bread dough hearts. I haven't painted them yet, because I'm busy having that nasty cold that's been going around. So I probably won't get them listed on Etsy in time for Valentine's Day, but at least I can show them here.
I also ordered postcards from Zazzle with photos I took in my new yard. You can see them below. Or you can buy them in my Zazzle shop. I love the way they came out. http://www.zazzle.com/sunset_in_lucerne_valley_post_cards-239001604058786630 and http://www.zazzle.com/pinkelephant_jpg_california_postcards-239446698707400693
